Bottom Right: Extrusion exiting the mouth of the press.

Aluminium Extruders currently produce extrusions in excess of 200 tonnes per month supplying our  stockists with material needed to satisfy the needs of their customers.  We also supply metal directly to customers who have reserved dies with us and we are currently exploring this market with great success.

The extrusion of aluminium has been termed the most versatile process known. Its many applications in everyday use, prove the versatility of both the process and the metal. Extrusion’s greatest value as  a process is its capability to place metal where it is needed. Let us show you how it works.

Before the extrusion process begins, the required die (shape) and billet is pre-heated. Billet, cut into the appropriate length, is pre-heated to 450 deg C.  It is

then loaded into the press and forced through the shaped orifice (die)  by means of high longitudinal pressure. As the extruded profile exits the press, it is guided down the run out table where it is cut  and transferred to the cooling table prior to stretching.
